Licensed Medicaid Home Delivered Meals
The Best Senior Meals Division is our Medicaid licensed branch. We provide seniors on the Long Term Care Waiver program with tasty, custom ordered, nutritious meals. Our motto is, Better food...better health and we here at BSM pride ourselves in the quality of our food. We provide primarily Hispanic style food that is fresh, home cooked, and free of preservatives, excess salt, or sodium.
The Best Senior Meals has been supporting the elderly community since 2012. Our food is restaurant prepared and filled with the freshest, finest ingredients. While Hispanic meals are our specialty, we continually strive to bring our clients new and exciting foods. Since our inception we've added Italian, Chinese, and American cuisine to our menus. We also serve clients requiring diabetic, renal, and pureed diets.
We offer our clients up to six menus over the course of six weeks to choose from. Furthermore, we encourage our clients, or their caregivers, to choose the meals they like and desire rather than giving them a limited menu that never changes. We gladly take the time to complete the menus with the clients ourselves if need be. Here's a few other reasons why we've become popular so quickly:
- Clients have a wide variety of dishes they to choose from
- Vegetables are fresh, not canned. The food is fresh, not processed. Our chicken dish actually has a bone in it!
- Personal service, including storing the food in the freezers for the clients.
- Additional vigilance, if we're not able to contact a member, or learn of a hospitalization, our trained staff will notify the Case Managers if we discover an unsafe situation.
- We take a little extra time to get to know the client. Nothing makes a client happier than to know that they are more than just a number.
- Client communication. We contact our clients regularly with reminders, menu and diet changes, and wellness calls.
Personal Home Catering
We are proud to announce our newest division: Cantina Classico! The Cantina has long been a staple in the Hispanic community. For decades busy Hispanic families have utilized this service to meet their nutritional needs due to limited time for meal preparation for themselves and their families. With more and more families having to depend on two or more incomes, there is less time and energy for family quality time.
With grocery and fuel costs rising, the family food budget is constantly being stretched. Add to that all the other things a parent must attend to therefore putting even more strain on family time.
We here at BSM have come up with a solution to save the family both time and money. We now provide Cantina services under the Cantina Classico banner. By having meals prepared and delivered to the home, a family can save up to 20% on their grocery bill, not to mention savings in fuel costs. While the children are doing their homework and parents are getting ready for the evening, dinner is already in place. Just drop them into
the microwave, or heat them slowly in the oven or stove top. Either way, dinner is only minutes away without all the fuss or clean-up while still delivering healthy, nutritious meals! Since 1992 Willie and Nidia Barrionuevo have owned and operated the West Tampa Sandwich Shop on N. Armenia Ave. Over the years the Barrionuevos emphasis on tasty food, reasonable prices, and excellent service has made their business a grand success. Now we bring this same tasty food, reasonable prices, and excellent service to you! In a short time span their business has grown so large that the family had to purchase a lot one block away just to handle the parking overflow.
Long a local favorite, the restaurant has been a favorite eating and meeting spot for locals, politicians, and celebrities alike. Everyone from Tampa's Mayors, Florida Governors as well as a President have dined there. In 2013, the Barrionuevos teamed up with BSM to prepare and package the food for BSM clients.
From the moment Barrionuevos and BSM became partners, BSM skyrocketed to the point that in 2016 a new building was purchased and renovated to become the new home for BSM, Cantina Classico, and Tampa Bay Catering. BSM is very proud to be in partnership with the Barrionuevos and we are now bringing catering services to the general public.
